Construction of a new Metro Line to Shunyi has commenced.  Construction work has been brought forward as part of China’s financial stimulus package and completion of the line is scheduled for May 31, 2011.  The line will run from the Summer Palace, eastwards through Wang Jing as far as Beijing Riviera compound where the line will turn northeast towards Shunyi (see map).   The line will end outside the hospital in Shunyi where construction work has already begun.
